Evolution in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: From Algorithmic to Individualized Approach

Abstract
Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a serious challenge due to the progressive nature of the disease and its effects on multiple organs. Advances in diabetes monitoring, therapy, and technology have accelerated the shift toward patientcentered care. In order to reduce diabetes distress, an individualized strategy offers a unique management plan for each patient improving medication adherence, patient satisfaction, and physical health outcomes. This editorial focuses on an individualized approach and the key factors that must be taken into account for diabetes management.
