Abstract
This paper deals very briefly with the history and evolution and Indian Psychoanalytical Society (IPS) and of International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) of which the IPS is a component Society. In this context the paper relates the exceptional contribution of Dr. G. Bose in founding the IPS and his contribution to the general field of mental health and psychoanalysis. A very brief account of the history of IPA is also provided in order to understand the significance and importance of this
International Association and its role in the development of psychoanalysis world-wide.
