Abstract

Indian traditional knowledge encompasses a vast and diverse range of ancient wisdom, practices, and systems that have been passed down through generations. This knowledge is deeply rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and philosophical traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Nutraceuticals is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It focuses on maintaining a balance between the body, mind, and spirit to promote overall health and well-being. Folklore therapeutic practices include herbal remedies, dietary guidelines, and meditation. Nutraceuticals places significant emphasis on the role of nutrition in maintaining health. It categorizes food into different types based on their impact on the body’s pathophysiology and recommends dietary choices accordingly. These are just a few examples, and Indian traditional knowledge extends to various other fields such as philosophy, literature, and traditional ecological knowledge. It continues to play a significant role in shaping the cultural and spiritual identity of the Indian subcontinent.
