A Therapeutic Response to Innovative MedifumesTM in Acute Tonsillitis and Lymphadenitis: Inspired by Ayurvedic Dhoopana Vidhi
Abstract
There was a therapeutic response in two cases of acute tonsillitis with lymphadenitis, treated with innovative MedifumesTM, inspired by Ayurvedic therapy of Dhoopana (fumigation). MedifumesTM were administered to the patients, via mouth, by using the Gujarathi‘s Auto-Dhoopan Apparatus (GADA), for six to eight minutes b.i.d. for a few days. On follow-up, significant relief of symptoms and reduction in the size of enlarged tonsils and lymph nodes were observed, with clinical and photographic evidence. In view of the global challenge of the huge prevalence of tonsillitis, the high costs for tonsillectomy and the widespread bacterial resistance to antibiotics, this innovation needs to be followed up by Reverse Pharmacology for its potential for field application.
