However, today there are opportunities for medical professionals in diverse fields of medicine and healthcare. Doctors are now playing a much wider role in enhancing healthcare, diagnosis, research, developing new treatments, and shaping the foundation and functioning of a country’s healthcare system. They are also making significant contributions to public health and wellness. This editorial discusses significant alternative medical fields where doctors are building lucrative careers, contributing to society, and playing an equally important role as those in clinical practice.
